Getting Hot and Sweaty at Exhibitions .
No not in that way, although it would make standing on your stand all day long a bit more bearable wouldn’t it!
This is all about how to stay cool and comfortable at your exhibition through the hot and sweaty summer months! Having been at the NEC and Excel over the last week with temperatures reaching 30ºC, it gets very hot inside the exhibition especially with all the lighting and AV equipment on all day!
You will sweat. Accept this as fact, there is no way you are going to be stood up all day inside one of these halls without some bit of perspiration coming from somewhere. So wear deodorant, keep some on your stand, wear lightweight fabrics and please stay away from colours like light blue and grey as these show every single bead of perspiration.
Hydration! Stock your stand up with more than enough bottled water for everyone on there. Staying hydrated will keep your energy levels up and it will also keep your brain functioning properly all day. Being dehydrated is one of the key things to reduce brain activity, meaning your conversation skills will go to pot if all you can think about is how thirsty you are.
Take regular breaks and get outside. Fresh air works wonders, it also allows you to not have to converse with anyone for around 15 minutes, a welcomed scenario if you have been on a stand for a few hours trust me!
If you can, try and stay away from the after exhibition drinks…now I know this is a lot easier said than done. When someone invites you out on an all expenses paid evening it is very hard to say no. So if you do go out, be prepared for feeling horrible the next day and do your best to stay professional throughout!
Another way to stay cool is not setting up your stand yourself! Let us do the hot and sweaty work for you. Click here for details of our free hire exhibition stand service with setting up and break down or here for our exhibition stand design service.
